Kintsugi for Healing: An art workshop for survivors of sexual abuse

April 13th 9:30 AM – 3 PM

Nimbus Arts 649 Main St.  St. Helena, Ca.

KINTSUGI – The centuries old Japanese tradition of repairing broken pottery with gold. The Japanese say: A ceramic object repaired by kintsugi becomes whole again, only stronger and more beautiful.

This hands-on art workshop with artist and poet Karen Nagano empowers survivors of sexual harm to take charge of their trauma, declare the emotional truth of their experiences and restore wholeness by breaking a ceramic bowl and rebuilding it with gold. All materials provided.

Don Perico Dine and Donate

April 10th  11 AM – 9:30 PM 

1106 1st Street.  Napa, Ca.

Take a night off from cooking or enjoy a lunch with friends at Don Perico Mexican Restaurant and help raise funds for NEWS Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse Services.  On April 10th from 11 am to 9:30 pm, 20% of food sales will benefit NEWS!  Our “Dine & Donate” flyer must be present in order for us to receive credit.

 


Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day

April 9th 5 – 8 PM 

1136 Main Street.  Napa, Ca.

NEWS will be scooping for tips during Ben & Jerry’s annual Free Cone Day on April 9th.  Our staff will be behind the counter scooping ice cream and passing out free ice cream cones.  Tips generated from 5 pm – 8 pm will be donated to NEWS.
