Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2020
Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), recognized each April, aims to raise public awareness about sexual violence and educate communities on how to prevent it. NEWS Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse services is committed to reducing incidents of sexual violence in Napa County while providing victims and survivors with support services.
Sexual assault is broadly defined as any form of unwanted sexual contact obtained without consent. National statistics show that one in three women and one in six men experience some form of contact sexual violence in their lifetime. The impact of sexual assault can have lifetime effects for survivors and their families.
