"Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" is Saturday, April 29th at Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Napa from 10 am to noon. There is an old saying: "You can't understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes." To get people listening, learning, and talking, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® events organize around men literally walking one mile in women's high-heeled shoes. Would you be willing to help get a team of friends together? Families are welcome. Registration is only $10 for individuals or $50 for a team/group. Groups can be as large as you want. Register HERE.

On April 26th, wear jeans to take a stand against victim-blaming in honor of Denim Day

Denim Day grew out of a 1998 Italian Supreme Court decision that overturned a rape conviction because the victim wore “tight jeans.” The judges reasoned the victim’s tight jeans meant that she had to have helped her assailant remove them, implying consent. People all over the world were outraged, and wearing jeans became an international symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes and myths surrounding sexual assault.

Join NEWS and people across the globe in wearing denim on April 26th to show solidarity with survivors and take a stand against victim blaming. Flood social media with photos of your denim using #denimday and tag NEWS @NEWS4peace.
