NEWS

This past year as President of the NEWS Board, I have witnessed the most compassionate and dedicated staff work tirelessly for NEWS clients. I am involved in this organization because NEWS makes a difference in the day to day lives of people escaping domestic violence. NEWS helps those affected by sexual assault on their healing journey. Supporting this work is so important to me.

Everyone deserves safety and hope. During this winter season, the needs of our clients are the first and foremost focus of NEWS. The goal of NEWS is to provide a safe, warm home, free from violence and a place to heal. The generosity of our Napa community helps NEWS meet its mission to provide the support our clients need in order to survive and, more importantly, thrive.

I am so grateful for the professional staff, the amazing volunteers, the brave clients, and our generous supporters. Please join me to help continue the essential services offered by NEWS.

With gratitude,

Danis Kreimeier, NEWS Board President

Today is #GivingTuesday and we officially kick off our holiday fundraising campaign and participation in the Napa Valley CanDo's Give!Guide. We believe everyone in Napa County deserves safety and hope. Join us this holiday season and commit to ending family and intimate partner violence by making a donation.

Need another reason to give? Our board is matching $1,000 donated through the Give!Guide TODAY, #GivingTuesday! That means your $1 will be DOUBLED when you give today!

This season we asked our staff what they love about NEWS during the holidays...

"My favorite part of the holidays at NEWS is how it shows that we are a family here. From coming together during the potlucks sharing stories, laughing about how competitive we become during our “family holiday games”. NEWS has truly become my family and for that, I am so thankful. Also, the happy faces of all the families that get adopted for Christmas, especially the children." ~Elizabeth, SAVS Advocate

"I looooove the feeling of being able to give our parents hope. As a parent myself, I know how much you want to give your kids the world and the guilt you feel when you can't. During the holidays, being able to help our clients either through adopt a family, helping them pay a bill that will allow them to breathe and get gifts, or referring them to other resources who have similar holiday programs is amazing. The look on their faces when they realize there is a way to help their kids feel the magic of the holidays is extremely rewarding." ~Ana S., Program Director
