Making your list, and checking it twice? Don’t forget to add "Support to NEWS" to your holiday to-dos this year! A little goes a long way when you donate to NEWS:

$15 helps buy toiletries for an emergency shelter client.
$50 covers the co-pay for child's doctor's visit.
$100 feeds a family for a week.

When you donate, you are not just giving money, but you are providing courage and confidence to the most vulnerable in our community. Need another reason to give? Our Board is matching the first $10,000 donated in December when you donate through the Napa Valley CanDo's Give!Guide! With less than two weeks left of December, now is the time to make your end-of-year donations before the clock strikes 2024!

Looking for something fun to do after the holiday? On December 26th, NEWS is honored to have been selected as a beneficiary for this year's Gift Giving Tuesdays at The Meritage Resort and Spa! Head over to the Meritage Resort and choose from a variety of activities, like ice skating, s’mores fire pit, private igloo rentals, story time with Santa, and of course all the wonders of the Napa Valley (wine and good food)! NEWS will be gifted 5% of all proceeds from the day’s activities! So, plan a day of fun with friends and family and head on over to the Meritage Resort and Spa on December 26!

This season we asked our staff what they love about NEWS during the holidays....

"As a kid I always wanted Christmas to be like the movies, so being able to help make Christmas special for our clients means a lot. The energy around the office when all of the gifts are being delivered and all hands are on deck to haul them up and down our stairs is one of my favorite things. One year, I insisted that the mom of a child I was working with, put her own wish list items down because I noticed she focused her Christmas list around the kids only and she told me she didn’t need anything. After some convincing that she was just as important, she told me that her whole life she had always wanted a fancy coat. So when she opened her gift to see that it was her very own peacoat really made this so much more special. Receiving her text that Christmas put a huge smile on my face and tears in my eyes, because, it’s the little things. I’m so grateful to our donors that help make these holidays special for everyone. It’s just all around my favorite time of year." ~Christina, SAVS Program Manager

"The donations that become presents under the Christmas tree for our clients who otherwise wouldn’t have a Christmas are amazing. So many people in the community give for this purpose and it really touches not on the families they are assisting, but the impact on the staff is real. It keeps us inspired and knowing that we work in a community so giving, so caring. There are some really big hearts out there in Napa Valley." ~Mandy, Finance & HR Director
