NEWS - Domestic Violence & Sexual Abuse Services

Each year in April we join the national effort to recognize and promote Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) by accepting proclamations from key governmental offices, hosting campaigns at schools, providing educational presentations and displays, and participating in community events throughout Napa County.

This year’s theme is “Building Connected Communities” calling on all of us to create strong, connected communities that take care of one another and ensure the safety and well-being of others to end sexual violence.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" is Sunday, April 14th at Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Napa from 1 – 3 pm. There is an old saying: "You can't understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes." To get people listening, learning, and talking, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® events are organized around supporters literally walking one mile in women's high-heeled shoes. Join NEWS and our community partners as we share resources and ways you can support survivors and build a connected community. All are welcome! Registration is only $10 for individuals and $120+ for teams.
