Dear Friends of NEWS,

NEWS is excited to kick off the new year full of gratitude for the generous and thoughtful contributions that the community made to us during the holiday season. Holiday giving through direct donations, CanDo's Napa Valley Give!Guide, and our Adopt-A-Family program exceeded our expectations and fill us with joy as we continue to serve the over 1,600 victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse each year, and work tirelessly teaching and advocating for education and prevention.

We are looking forward to the coming year, starting with February and Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. We will be at local middle and high schools leading students in identifying warning signs of dating abuse, and how to develop healthy relationships. And right around the corner will be April and Sexual Assault Awareness Month where we already have 10 community events scheduled.

Plus, we look forward to sharing the stories of the people that we help, their hope, their resilience, and their spirit through our Reflections of NEWS campaign.

From everyone at NEWS, we thank you for your generosity and wish you peace and happiness in 2020!

“I don’t know how to use a computer. The amount of paperwork to fill out was discouraging”

“I needed help to pay my rent until I could get back on my feet after the abuse. NEWS was able to piece together several options to help me. I don’t know how to use a computer. I don’t even read very well. The low income housing requirements were 35 pages! A donor fund they found was 17 pages long… even my rental agreement was 10 pages! I was so discouraged, but they helped me step by step.”
