LUNAFEST® is not just a traveling film festival, it’s a force for change. For almost 20 years, LUNA has been championing and supporting women. LUNAFEST was created to provide a platform for women to share their untold stories with the world. These important films bring fresh perspectives, ideas that rock our future. LUNAFEST also makes an impact at the local level, helping to raise funds for women’s causes, including NEWS, while providing a global stage for female filmmakers. Someday audiences will demand new voices, different storytellers. That time is now.

Because these stories can’t wait for someday.

Someday is now.

LUNAFEST® is March 19 at Copia and is hosted by the Soroptimist St. Helena Sunrise. Help support NEWS and get more information about the Napa screening and your tickets HERE.

Napa Teens Learn Love is About Respect at School Events

Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (February) has been a huge success this year with the NEWS #orange4love campaign in full swing. We have already held events at 6 out of 8 middle and high schools and have had over 500 student participate. Redwood Middle School has the largest population of youth and we were able to teach 193 students about healthy relationships on February 18th. We have two new schools this year: Justin Sienna High School and River Middle School!

“I told my mom that she should go to NEWS and get help”

“Carla from NEWS came to my school and had a table in the courtyard called ‘Orange4Love.’ They had this bookmark that had information about healthy relationships on it. I recognized things on the lists that were unhealthy or abusive. They were things that my mom’s boyfriend did to her. Things like manipulation, dishonesty, blame shifting, and control. I told my mom that she should go to NEWS and get help.”
