VIRTUAL KIDS SUPPORT GROUP FOR UNCERTAIN TIMES HOSTED BY NEWS

On Tuesday, July 21, NEWS-Domestic Violence & Sexual Abuse Services started a new series of support groups for youth. These groups are open to all Napa County youth, ages 5-17, who would like a safe place to talk about Covid-19 stress, self-esteem/self-worth, and healthy relationships. The virtual Zoom meetings will be facilitated by NEWS bilingual case managers and a prevention educator, and will be in two separate groups: ages 5-11 and ages 12-17. Group 1 for ages 5-11 will be held at 2:00 pm, and Group 2 for ages 12-17 will be held at 1:00 pm, every Tuesday afternoon.

Covid-19 Update...

As we move into August, it is hard to believe we have been sheltering-in-place for just over four months. NEWS continues to adapt to the changing state and county regulations to ensure that our services remain available to those in need. Since March and with the profound support from our partners and community, we have been able to ensure over 235 households in our community—including 396 children—stay housed and nourished. Looking ahead and as the pandemic evolves, we are identifying opportunities to enhance our services to offer sustained support and assistance to our survivors. If you would like to help in our endeavors, please consider making a donation HERE.
