Treasure Hunt

Napa Emergency Women’s Services (NEWS) has been supporting female victims of domestic violence through an interesting fundraiser called the Treasure Hunt for four years running.

In 2012, the event did not occur due to NEWS’ focus on a larger and more profitable fundraiser called “Wine, Women and Shoes,” a better use of volunteer time to gain larger donations for assisting the women in need in Napa.

Having the foresight to see this issue coming again in 2013, NEWS reached out to Napa Women’s Club (NWC) for a partnership, having gained assistance from this women’s charitable nonprofit in years past.

NWC’s Evening Edition took on this challenge, and this year’s fifth annual Treasure Hunt is now under way, seeking donations to sell on Saturday, April 6, at 10 a.m. in the Clubhouse of the NWC on Franklin Street downtown.

We are asking for fashionable, gently used designer women’s accessories like purses, wallets, watches and jewelry, and outerwear, such as hats, coats, scarves and gloves. We are not accepting other clothing or shoes this year.

We have four drop-off locations that will be accepting donations right up to the event date on April 6: The Eye Works on Pearl Street, Rabobank on Trancas Street, NEWS office on Pear Tree Lane, and Lifestyle Properties on Main Street in St. Helena.

Share this opportunity to donate and shop to support women in the Napa Valley with your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. Every lady who has been involved in this event has enjoyed every aspect and does not want to keep this jewel of a find to herself.

Come share in the momentum. See you there!
