MINI FILM FESTIVAL CONNECTING WOMEN THROUGH FILM

Lunafest, a mini film festival, is set to premiere in Napa Valley at Lincoln Theater on March 9, 2017 at 6:15 p.m.   This thought provoking traveling film festival takes a look at women and girl lives through the lens of nine woman directors. This year, the films share stories about hope, reflection and humor. Incredibly diverse in style and content, LUNAFEST is united by a common thread of exceptional storytelling - by, for and about women.

Lunafest Napa Valley 2017 will recognize and honor the local women matriarchs, trailblazers, warriors and champions in our community. To help fund the best for girls and women or to honor a woman in your life, please consider sponsoring. Sponsorship opportunities are available from $250 to $1,000 and include reserved seats for this hot event!  To become a sponsor, email LunafestNapaValley@gmail.com.

The volume is being turned up on the conversations around gender equality and the lack of diversity among Hollywood filmmakers. To further the conversation on how women are viewed within our community and the film industry an exhibit of local #boldgirls will be show cased. Photographs of empowered girls experiencing Girls on the Run at Salvador will be shown by photographer, Shelly Hanan, along with art created to help NEWS children living through tragedy heal. Diane Weipert, NIÑERA Film Director, will be speaking prior to the movie to share her insights.

Be a part of the change and purchase a ticket for $50/$20(student) through the Lincoln theater website, www.lincolntheater.com. A pre-reception with wine and small bites will be offered from 6:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Lunafest Napa Valley serves as a fundraising platform for our local organizations; this year’s recipients are Girls on the Run Napa & Solano, NEWS Domestic Violence & Sexual Abuse Services, and Soroptimist International of St. Helena Sunrise. Nationally, the Breast Cancer Fund is a beneficiary.
