Wine Women & Shoes® is the brainchild of Elaine Honig. While chatting with a girlfriend about the growing popularity of wine and food pairing events, they jokingly said, "Wine and shoe pairings would be a lot more fun!" And they were right. WW&S® events are now in 50 cities across the country, with over 25,000 attendees per year, and they have raised more than $15,000,000 for women's and children's causes. NEWS has partnered with WW&S to bring this fabulous event to the Napa Valley.

A David Aten Event! David Aten is a huge supporter of Napa Emergency Women’s Services and everyone knows that David knows how to put on the BEST events in the Napa Valley. David’s events are pure magic and he gives WW&S Napa Valley his ALL!
Wow Them in White. Everyone is wearing WHITE this year! Wear white and don your most colorful accessories…or buy some there!
Participate in the Best in Shoe contest. Our honored Judge Jean Charles Boisset will roam the marketplace seeking stand-out shoes in several categories. Winners will be announced and invited to come on stage to receive a special gift and photo opportunity.
Take A Chance. This is your opportunity to take home the grand prize of the event! Don’t miss out on buying one of the limited raffle tickets available for the dream closet filled with thousands of dollars of merchandise and products every woman would love to have. Only 200 “Keys to the Closet” raffle tickets will be sold at $50 each. One lucky winner will unlock the closet and take it all home.
Pick a Winner at the Wine Pull! Actually, everyone is a winner. Buy a ticket and win a fabulous bottle of wine worth $25 to $250!
The early bird gets the Shoe Guy. As you enter the event, our handsome and charming Shoe Guys will be there to greet you. You can adopt certain Shoe Guys to be your personal Shoemmelier for the day. This is one of the most fun ways to make a donation to NEWS and enjoy your WWS experience. Plan ahead with your “sole” mates on which Shoe Guy will be at your beck-and-call. On event day, place your bidder number and adoption amount on his bid sheet. A typical bid starts at $500 for one table. The cost is usually shared, like one dessert with several spoons! Many of the Shoe Guys offer extra services like winetasting events, group dinners, or handyman services included in their adoption!
From hunky husbands to foxy firefighters, the Shoe GuysTM are one of the highlights of a WW&S® event. These dashing gents may look like models, but they are boy-next-door men from the community who support the cause and are willing to brave a party full of women. They are the Prince Charmings to our glass slippers as they present the latest shoe styles on silver trays and wax poetic on the art of wine and shoe pairing. After all, a man who can match Manolos with merlot has our hearts in his hand.
Amazing Live and Silent Auctions. Bid on wonderful gift packages at the silent auction in the marketplace area, and then when the show starts the exciting Live auction takes place. You can bid on a Honey-Do lot of fabulous contractor to fix up your home, a beautiful Mexican Vacation, a Head-To-Toe Makeover, and Private Dinners by local chefs! This is also the time to be giving and Fund-A-Need for Napa Emergency Women’s Services.
Feast It Forward. An episode of Feast It Forward will be filmed at the event! Feast it Forward™ showcases good will and charitable giving through culinary and wine related events. Food & wine enthusiasts (coined as “Foodies & Winos”) learn about causes around the country, alongside the chefs and winemakers inspired by them. From “off the beaten path” wineries, food and wine fundraisers, to vintners opening up their homes for intimate tastings and gourmet fare, this behind the scenes look is truly beyond the bottle. http://feastitforward.com/
Bring Your Special Guy. Men enjoy watching beautiful women have a great time. Your significant other can enjoy the wine, food, and Fashion Show, too! Is he in need of a gift idea for you? The silent and live auction items will provide excellent hints!
Facebook and Tweet! We’re social, too. While at the event feel free to Tweet, update your Facebook page, check-in, post Instagrams, and upload Pinterest photos. There will even be a special area for fun “Selfies!”
Plan for the weather. Though we have strategically designed the event to be on the lawn underneath the shady canopy of Charles Krug’s many trees, do wear sunscreen. If you do not enjoy the summertime sun and heat, you may want to bring along a parasol.
Indulge yourself. WWS is the best way to indulge yourself while making a real difference in the lives of women and children who are victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Be generous to a fault. Have a wonderful, wonderful day being a beautiful woman inside and out.
Be there. Be giving. Be fabulous.
The fundraiser will be held from 11am to 3pm on the picturesque shaded lawns of Charles Krug Winery in St. Helena. It will feature food from local chefs, caterers and restaurants, and wines from Napa’s most prestigious wineries. Also included in the high spirited event is a fashion show with women’s and men’s clothes from Helen Lyall and Scott Lyall, a shopping marketplace with shoes and accessories, a raffle to win a dream closet valued at over $7,000, and a silent and live auction. If these aren’t enough reason to make this a ‘not-to-be-missed’ event, the piece d’ resistance is the presence of over 25 handsome and charming Napa Valley Shoe Guys waiting on you hand and foot.
“When you attend Wine Women & Shoes for NEWS you are supporting other women who are in the midst of a difficult struggle to end the violence in their lives. You help them to survive beyond it, and to have a better life,” says Tracy Lamb, Executive Director of Wine Women & Shoes Napa Valley. 100% of ticket and auction sales and 20% of your vendor purchases are contributed to NEWS.
NEWS is ecstatic to announce that Jean Charles Boisset of Boisset Family Estates will be the Best in Shoe Judge at the event. Boisset, a wine industry icon known for his style as much as his growing winery empire, will mingle with guests at the event and select winners among attendees in three categories: best heel, best wedge and sassiest flat. Boisset’s Raymond Vineyards will be pouring their Burgundian sparkling wine for Stiletto guests upon arrival.
Star studded media will also support NEWS. High profile San Francisco photographer and socialite examiner columnist, Moanalani Jeffrey, will photograph the event and fashion show. Due to her extensive social and media popularity, Jeffries images of last year’s event were featured in 7x7 magazine and examiner.com.
Additionally, an episode of Feast It Forward™ will be filmed at the event! Feast it Forward™ showcases good will and charitable giving through culinary and wine related events. Food & wine enthusiasts (coined as “Foodies & Winos”) learn about causes around the country, alongside the chefs and winemakers inspired by them. Katie Shafer hosts the show that features everything from “off the beaten path” wineries, food and wine fundraisers, to vintners opening up their homes for intimate tastings and gourmet fare, this behind the scenes look is truly beyond the bottle.
Wow Them in White Everyone is wearing WHITE this year! Wear white and don your most colorful accessories…or buy some there!
